Books! And a budget...
I've been spending money quite liberally here; at first, it was difficult for me (It goes against everything I've been taught!), but with encouragement from Martina, who spends like crazy, I am practically throwing money out the window. I spent 70$ on books this month, 20$ on a present for Coles (a pure impulse buy, via the internet, of course), and 30$ on other miscellaneous crap (chewing gum, pizza, arcade games, tea at the ShaZa...). That's 120$ in two and a half weeks! And even with all of this frivolous spending, I can't get up the courage to buy things I really need. Generally this is because I convince myself that I can go without such necessities, while I waste my money in unnecessary social situations elsewhere. From now on, I am going to budget myself!
On the bright side, because I spent 70$ on books this month, I now have quite a few (And will have even more when the YA's I ordered online arrive!). I've come up with a reading order to even out the classics with the more fun and fantastical books. I just finished Through the Looking Glass, which was delightful, and am now reading Nabokov's Invitation to a Beheading, so obviously, that will come first.

Reading List:
1) Invitation to a Beheading
2) The Golden Compass
3) The Hunger Games
4) Lolita
5) The Book Thief
6) The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
7) The Amulet of Samarkand
8) The Unbearable Lightness of Being (A favorite, and a reread)
9) Whatever other book I ordered online (I can't believe I've forgotten!)
So, yeah. That should last me through December.
Seriously, my fingers are crossed. And while I can't wait to go book shopping again, I know I shouldn't buy any more when I have so many unread at home.
Plus, I'm on a budget.
