Rain!

It's raining today, for the trillionth time! I do love it, but the downsides to the downpours are becoming increasingly obvious. Whenever it rains, I have to wear my bulky winter coat, which I hate, and I always end up getting soaked through from toe to shins. This is bad for multiple reasons. 1) When I am wet, the cold is ten times worse. 2) Wet clothes take forever to dry, especially in the humidity, and I only have three pairs of jeans. 3) Wet converse take even longer to dry, forcing me to wear my flats, which are not a very weather-savvy choice. 4) This shoe issue has caught the attention of my host family, who think I need to by boots. 5) I don't especially want to buy boots.

I don't resent the rain for any of this, I simply no longer wish to go walking in it.

* A sixth reason to avoid the rain: I don't especially want to buy umbrellas, either, but the wind in Avellino has already destroyed three, making them impossible to use. Dead and dying umbrellas litter the city streets everywhere, and it's kind of beautiful to see.
