Thanksgiving

My whole Thanksgiving attempt was a bit of a disaster (No surprise there). The pumpkin pie was pretty weird (I had to make it from scratch, and added one too many eggs, so it came out a little fluffy, more like a pumpkin mouse than pie. And we ate it when it came out of the oven, so it was kind of mushy. Plus, I didn't make enough crust, so it was only on the bottom and not on the sides, and it was such a thin layer that you hardly noticed it). The twice baked potatoes were okay, but my mom's are way better. The only good thing about them was the fact that my host family's never eaten the skins of potatoes before (Martina kept saying we were all going to die. I said "Shut up, the skin has nutrients."). It was fairly amusing. We also ate corn on the cob, which was difficult to find at the supermarket, because apparently you only eat it like that when you buy it from street vendors. But whatevs. Oh, and we didn't even eat till like, 10:30, which is about an hour and a half late, thanks to my genius work with the oven... I thought the pumpkin and potatoes were cooking at 200 degrees C for an hour, when really the oven was only pretending to be on, and hadn't cooked anything at all....
