I'm catching a bit of a cold...

... Otherwise, it's a been entirely uneventful as of late. I showed everyone my yearbook, which is sticky because my shampoo leaked in my suitcase on the plane, and they were all like "Ooooh, I want to go to American school!" They were baffled by the concept of electives ("Wait, you mean you get to choose? And not everyone takes the same ones? And there's a wide array of options, varying to suit the student body's interest!?") Alessandra, one of Martina's friends, went through the entire book trying to find beautiful boys. When she asked me to show her one I claimed "There are no beautiful boys at my school," (What I should have said is "There are no photogenic boys at my school," but I didn't know how to say photogenic in Italian), and was proven correct when she was unable to find one. She was highly disappointed.
They watch a lot of American television here, dubbed of course. It's vaguely amusing, but mainly annoying, as the voices are wrong. Still, when we were watching Gossip Girl as a group after school today, I was able to fantasize with ease that Chuck and Nate were confessing their undying lust for each other and preparing to make love in a stairwell, instead of what they were actually discussing, which was Nate's financial status and Chuck's undying love for Blaire.
I showed Martina and Company the Potter Puppet Pals "Mysterious Ticking Noise" (Limited English, easy to understand), and they loved it. Everyone cracked up.
I have officially run out of English novels. I only brought four because I was afraid my suitcase would weigh too much, and I've practically ingested them since I've been here. I feel kind of like my Sim, actually. Whenever I'm bored because I can't understand a conversation, whether I be at school or a park, I simply produce a novel. Except now I can't. I really need to buy some more, but I can't find any in Avellino. Ah, well. The next time I go to Naples, I suppose.
